Fan Control

Fan Control is a System Preferences add-on that allows you to control the speed of your Intel computers fans. I find this very us full when ripping one DVD, converting another into a HD MP4 and playing music, at this point my fans would be going at around 5000rpm, but with Fan Control I can keep it a 3000rpm. Admittedly it does send the temperature of my my computer up slightly, from around 60*C to 75*C, but this doesn't really bother me as my CPU hasn't started running out the side of my computer yet so it can't be that hot! Fan Control allows you to pick what base speed you want and the upper and lower thresholds, which means you can make it run at a intermediate rate so your computer doesn't melt completely! It gives you a graph of the rpm and temperature of you computer, you can chose between Fahrenheit and Celsius, it also tells you the speed you fans are running at which is updated ever 5 seconds. This is a add-on for every well used computer, I give it
